We understand that our life management techniques may have become dysfunctional to help us survive difficult circumstances. Rather than challenge those behaviors; we work to help you develop insight into those behaviors and healthier ways to function in the future. By discovering the complexities of who you are, we can determine what parts are interfering with your life and implement healthier and more effective coping habits.
The counseling process begins with building the foundations for a strong, safe-alliance. We believe in individualized treatment planning, which entails catering counseling to the needs and goals of each client.
What is a family? Everyone defines family differently. Our goal at Behavioral Health Consultants is to help you work with who you believe your primary support system (family) to be, whether biological, friends, mentors, or intimate partners. We believe all individuals have learned an automatic way of communicating with ourselves and others, and when we enter into relationships, our communication patterns can become communication breakdowns. Our goal is to help you discover how to express your emotions, listen to the other person’s thoughts and feelings, and negotiate how to move forward in the relationship in healthy ways.
Our counselors utilize a variety of tools, including the Prepare Enrich Assessment and Gottman Method to help you and your family navigate the dynamics and complexities in your relationship.

Our team works with Cigna, United, TriCare, Aetna, Kaiser Permanente, and Blue Cross Blue Shield, as well as other healthcare plans. If you’re not sure whether or not you can afford therapy, please contact us! Our counselors provide a sliding scale fee that allows for counseling to be affordable for all those in need.
